From the very first day of Kenlee’s life we knew that she was going to have to have surgery to repair her heart. That has been 5 months of worry, fear and all other kinds of emotions. We know that once Kenlee has the surgery she will be night and day difference with her breathing and activity level. It’s just the thought of her with all kinds of cords and machines hooked up to her that makes mommy scared.
Our goal was to get Kenlee to 13 pounds. She is a great eater at times but just recently started having a hard time gaining weight. As of a week and half ago she weighed 9 pounds 3 ounces. The doctors and surgeons feel that it is time to have the surgery. They just don’t think she can get to 13 pounds without having her heart fixed. So April 27th is her surgery date.
We are on our way to St. Louis to meet with the surgeon and have have pre surgery test done today. We have lots of questions and hope we will have comfort after today.
