We just got home from STL. We were in the car for 7 hours, Kenlee did great. I got a package in the mail today, stay tuned for more information.
Our meeting with the surgeon went really well. He was very knowledgeable and really nice. He explained more about Kenlee’s heart defect (complete AVSD). Then explained how he was going to fix it. He gave us lots of information that we are still trying to process everything. Overall we have more of an ease of the surgery and know it will all be okay.
We were able to get a lot of the pre admit items out of the way today and not have to do them the day before the surgery. First we started with an EKG. Normally Kenlee does great with these but today she did not like how the stickers were taken off. She cried for several minutes. After I calmed her down we did an Echocardiogram. She also does good with these and today was no exception. Lastly we did some blood work. I was prepared to calm her down again but she did not cry a tear. She was such a big girl.
I know that these next 20 days are going to be hard and stressful. That is why we have friends and family to get us through this hard time. Kenlee will do great and I know she is strong and a fighter. We all are keeping our heads up and keeping the faith.
